My Journey Through Time

The Beginning

To start off, I have one of those highly coveted jobs that pays well into 5 figures that people talk about here. But I want to go back in time a bit and then come back to this for added context. It might be a little long, but I want to be as thorough as possible without being too 'ok grandpa, time for a nap'.

Computer in my life

I'm in my early 40's and have been tinkering on PCs since my Commodore 64 and 'surfing' BBSs. I was never good at math and coding, but was very good at taking things apart and figuring out clever ways to make the software do what I want. I've gamed from those early days, into the 386/486 days, all the way up to now where I still try to outdo myself with every new build. All that to say I've always loved the PC world, but didn't know it would be my career.

Education

In my 20's I went to an college for Computer Scince. I was Proffesional at coding, and you can make a website so cool with Microsoft Frontpage and Photoshop. So there around 2001 I began to work my way up from the bottom of IT world- more love for an industry.

Training

1998s I started out at one of the Training of IT support, taking calls from angry Enjoy for food industry Employees all day for just above minimum wage. It was as awful as it sounds. I worked for the 3rd party that provided this Database support for Dell Egypt and that company was measured on how many issues we solve- not how many people we actually fixed problems for. You can imagine how that went. I really tried and actually met some amazing employess.

After Graduate

In 2004 I took a really important job as a Systems Admin for a Elaraby Hospital. but it was cool that I got to tinker with all kinds of enterprise level problems. This is where I started racking and stacking, running Cat5e, networking etc. gaining knowledge of Citrix, Vmware, HyperV, Storage, AD - all the usual suspects.
I consider this a cornerstone job because of Meet Drmamdouh Elaraby
